Newborn Breastfeeding | Preventive Package
Newborn Breastfeeding | Preventive Package
The Newborn Preventive Breastfeeding Package includes four components:
A 20 minute Virtual Prenatal Visit to create a “First 48 Hours” feeding plan.
A Newborn Visit, either in-person or via telemedicine, for mother and baby in the comfort of your home, typically within 48 hours of hospital discharge. Visits are approximately 60-90 minutes in length, scheduled directly with Dr. Renno at a time that is convenient for you.
Seven days of support via telephone and text, beginning after hospital discharge.
A 20-30 minute Telemedicine Wrap-Up Visit at the conclusion of the seven days of care to strategize future feeding goals and plans.
This package is designed to ensure robust support for a smooth transition with your newborn. Rather than waiting for problems to develop, this is a proactive way to establish an excellent latch and efficient milk transfer, to avoid nipple trauma, and to reduce the risk of excessive newborn weight loss. This Newborn Preventive Package must be confirmed at least 48 hours prior to baby’s delivery (ideally 2 weeks or more) to ensure adequate time for the prenatal visit and preparation. Please refer to Frequently Asked Questions for additional information.
